EFFECT:

If you print a piece that you design but dont like the results, a different effect can progress his appearance. Make reference to the type of paper that you use, affect the appearance of your final copy; for example, can be shiny, with colors, matte, etc. choose the right effect for your print piece can change to something perfect

COLOR:

Is of the things aspect that is caused for trait differents of the light while is reflect or emit by them. generally the print machines use four inks (four-color process CMYK) or more.

THE BLACK COLOR: is more suitable add a cartridge of ink considering that joining three color the development is'nt very good

Cut:

CUT: divide something with any instrument or give shape with a tool, there are two types of cut.

CUT LINE: the imaginary line that indicate the place for which be cut the paper after of print. The line mark the final size of the publication. A important aspect before of design is confirm the sizes of optimal paper, that assist to reduce cost of the print unity and possible claim after of have the approved and finished art, this line is situated outside of art.

BLEED: the objective is make that the photography and elements that for design go until the limit of the page remain prints until the extreme, on account of possible errors of register in the print machines. Generally have in five and three millimeters.

HISTOGRAM

Graphical representation of how bright and dark pixels are distributed in an image. Graph showing the tonal ranges present in an image as a series of vertical bars. The more lines have the histogram, the greater the amount of tonal values of the image. An asymmetric histogram towards the left it indicates a dark image, while a histogram skewed to the right indicates a bright image.

The histogram will help us get an idea of how correct the exposure of an image. Thus, the graph underexposed tend to move left and an overexposed photo will tend to move to the right. An image containing all shades of gray will have a more or less uniform throughout the horizontal axis histogram.
The horizontal axis represents the various shades of gray from pure black (left) to pure white (right).
The vertical axis represents the number of pixels that contains the image for each tone represented on the horizontal axis.

GRAPHIC ARTS

It is set of trades or professions procedures involved in performing the graph, editorial or sculpting process.

The term includes occupations such as graphic design, media and the various systems of printing, binding and finishing. The main printing systems are: Web offset, screen printing, flexography, elhuecograbado, letterpress printing and digital printing.
The encuadernacióny finishes include cuts, pleats, folds the preperforated and the substrate (paper or other), among others. Graphic arts are currently used as a means of disseminating publicity.

MACHO OR DUMMY
This is a final prototype of the magazine with folds and final cuts that will contain, so the printer can determine which pages belong to the same sheet of paper, thus speeding, cheaper and is more accurate printing work. This page order is called a "printer spreads".
In advertising terms, the macho is used to show a client what the final look of a publication in terms of size, design and final composition.
The macho is listed as part of the design work of the publication that is being presented to the client and its appearance should be as close to a final print.
Some designers even perform tests printing press, consisting of one to twenty prints each of end sheets (printer spreads). Such tests are done to determine what quality color print work, what with no professional printing methods could not be clearly identified (color laser printing or inkjet)

VARNISH
The varnish forms a film on the surface on which it is applied which is comparable to the laminating process. Unlike other coatings which are dried by the evaporation of some components or penetration of these, particularly the varnish film is formed by chemical bonding mechanism.
The irradiation process is completed in very short periods, sometimes in fractions of a second.
The liquid varnish is extremely sticky and smelly. . It is necessary to submit the varnish to a process of sedation to give gloss that characterizes it.

The varnish is typically used in the graphic arts and allowing bright and elegant finishes on surfaces where it is applied.
Furthermore, the varnish has a number of advantages, among which are:
- Maximum brightness
- Low odor once they are applied UV
- Fast drying after applying UV
- Finished senior
- Resistant to water, grease and dirt
- Protects better surfaces
- The process of UV irradiation is extremely fast
- After irradiation can continue with other processing

Filming

Refers to the activity of taking scenes, whether of landscapes, people or anything else moving from a video camera specially designed for the task.
Meanwhile, filming that is action film, produces what is known as films.

Folder

A folder is an object that is used to group and protect loose papers of an organization.

File folders usually consist of a sheet of cardboard, rather thick and pink. The sheet is folded in half to reaching a top of an A4 paper surface. Documents are stored inside grouped by common themes. Are often used in combination with a binder for storage. File folders can be easily purchased in stores office supplies. In the UK, one of the oldest and best known companies is Railex folders. The Smead Manufacturing Company has a similar level in the United States.

CATALOG
The catalog is a business publication aimed at promoting products or services a company offers. In this company is the neatest way to display your products or services to the consumer public and is generally composed of several images that visually present the products or services offered therein. The catalog is primarily visual.

The most usual is that catalogs presenting a series of products or services offered by a particular company, but is also used to make individual and very detailed presentations of a particular product, specifying in the case of a product, its physical characteristics, its main functions, physical appearance, technical specifications and all those clarifications to be made about him; and in the case of a service, presented its basic characteristics, the different uses or functions it has, convenience of use applied to a certain area or discipline, the amenities offered, technical specifications and conditions of contract.

Font

In metal typesetting, a font is a particular size, weight and style of a typeface. Each font was a matched set of type, one piece (called a "sort") for each glyph, and a typeface comprised a range of fonts that shared an overall design.
In modern usage, with the advent of digital typography, "font" is frequently synonymous with "typeface", although the two terms do not necessarily mean the same thing. In particular, the use of "vector" or "outline" fonts means that different sizes of a typeface can be dynamically generated from one design. Each style may still be in a separate "font file"—for instance, the typeface "Bulmer" may include the fonts "Bulmer roman", "Bulmer italic", "Bulmer bold" and "Bulmer extended"—but the term "font" might be applied either to one of these alone or to the whole typeface..

High Contrast

High Contrast is the significant areas  in an image, this technique allows the design of white and black very sharply. we call high contrast when working with darker and lighter without intermediate difference between light and dark steps.

TYPOGRAPHY

It is the art and technique of arranging type to make legible and beautiful written language. The arrangement of type involves the selection of typefaces, point size, line length, line spacing (leading), letter spacing (tracking) and adjusting the space inside the even letters (kerning  ). Type design is a closely related art, sometimes considered part of typography; Most printers do not design fonts and some type designers are not considered typographers.

TRAPPING

Trap in a press is the ability of a printed ink to accept the next printed ink compared with paper forms that accept the ink well. Registration is when you line all images printed on one over the other. Trapping is a term most widely used in the prepress industry to describe the compensation for registry errors between units in a multicolor printing press. This misregistration causes unsightly gaps or blank in the final printed piece.

WEAVES

The current technique of frames, is variable in size points between 1% and 99%, depending on the lines per inch LPI (lines per inch), the main feature is that it has angles for each color and create a rosette. This technique uses the integration of human optics to give an appearance of continuous tone where there are really only four shades of printing inks (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) color also given by substrate or paper.

CMY
(cyan, magenta, yellow, key.)
Is a color system in whitch they can make a big different values range putting his shades.
A colour model that describes each colour in terms of the quantity of each secondary colour (cyan, magenta, yellow), and "key" (black) it contains. The CMYK system is used for printing. For mixing of pigments, it is better to use the secondary colours, since they mix subtractively instead of additively. The secondary colours of light are cyan, magenta and yellow, which correspond to the primary colours of pigment (blue, red and yellow). In addition, although black could be obtained by mixing these three in equal proportions, in four-colour printing it always has its own ink. This gives the CMYK model. The K stands for "Key' or 'blacK,' so as not to cause confusion with the B in RGB.

Vector VS Bit Maps Beatriz Elena Coronado Grupo C. Ficha 684331

VECTOR: Graphic used in software of design, which composes of lines and curves defined by mathematical objects called vectors curves. It can be scaled to any size without losing their attributes and sharpness, since it does not depend on the resolution as bitmaps: It is ideal for designing graphics that vary in size and printing technique, such as logos.

BIT MAP: These are images that use a grid of colors known as pixels to represent images. Each pixel is assigned a location and a specific color value.
