HISTOGRAM

Graphical representation of how bright and dark pixels are distributed in an image. Graph showing the tonal ranges present in an image as a series of vertical bars. The more lines have the histogram, the greater the amount of tonal values of the image. An asymmetric histogram towards the left it indicates a dark image, while a histogram skewed to the right indicates a bright image.

The histogram will help us get an idea of how correct the exposure of an image. Thus, the graph underexposed tend to move left and an overexposed photo will tend to move to the right. An image containing all shades of gray will have a more or less uniform throughout the horizontal axis histogram.
The horizontal axis represents the various shades of gray from pure black (left) to pure white (right).
The vertical axis represents the number of pixels that contains the image for each tone represented on the horizontal axis.
